BCM Construction Day 2: Ground Breaking!!!!
Today is officially “Groundbreaking Day” for Biscardi Creative Media!!!! A truly monumental day in the history of this company and we make our third step in the evolution of our facilities. For those who don’t know, I started this company in a spare bedroom in the corner of our house. Then we expanded to the 1,000 sq. ft office I never thought we would outgrow. Well now we make our biggest step yet.
Ah, can you just see the excitement on everyone’s face? Yes, yes, I can see it. You’re just looking the wrong way….
So it was simply a gorgeous day out here in good old Buford, Georgia as we gathered in 95 degree heat (probably 90% humidity) for the traditional “Toss the Shovel” groundbreaking photo. As you can see the construction path was already cut in yesterday and all of us headed on over to the lot during lunch.
See all of this is really the front yard for Molly to run around in. Our office is going to be behind the trees…..

You know I talk a lot about VARs and the importance of finding the right VAR for your business. (Value Added Reseller in case you’re wondering….) I have purchased about 90% of my equipment from David Strupp and the WH Platts company over the past 5 years or so. He’s just a fantastic guy who is always there with an answer, a demo or even a good laugh when I need it. I think he was almost more excited than we were when we announced the new project. Trip is the “new guy” at Platts but he’s quickly become part of the BCM team. David and the entire WH Platts company believes in building relationships over that one time sale and they’ve been a real asset and a friend to our company. That’s pretty much true of all the companies I deal with from AJA Video Systems (Nick Rashby is just one of the nicest guys in the industry) to Flanders Scientific (More of the nicest people in the industry) to Bob Zelin (Just a brilliant and very funny engineer.) Life is too short to have to “deal with people” you don’t like. Surround yourself with good people, people who like to laugh, and you put yourself in a good position not only for business, but for life.
See, people who can laugh are so much more fun to be around….
The lovely Nicole Wright from the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce makes a surprise visit. Welcome to the BCM Family Nicole!
Kim O’Neill gives some serious consideration to the theme and look of her new edit suite…. Or perhaps she’s wondering if the sun is in the East or the West?… Or perhaps “Did I leave that iron on?”… Or perhaps, “It’s not easy being green….”
And this is what it’s all about. A life partner who believes in the dream.
Enough kissing. LET’S BUILD A NEW FACILITY!!!!!
