AJA takes Kona cards cross-platform
When Apple switched to Intel processors and the PCIe internal architecture it only made sense that sooner or later we’ll start to see cross platform cards that can work in either a Mac or a PC. Now AJA makes that a reality.
Effective immediately, the AJA Kona lineup is now cross platform and will ship with both Mac and Windows Drivers. The former Xena product line for the PC has been shuttered and the features rolled into the Kona.
This is REALLY cool for those of you who are running Dual Boot systems. You could run Final Cut Pro in Mac OS X. ReBoot to Windows and run Avid or any other Windows based software, using the same card. I had a feeling the Kona board could do cross platform since AJA was working on “both sides of the fence” for quite some time now. Glad to see them bring a single product to two platforms. One more reason I love AJA Video Systems.
